Beyond viewing standard inflows and outflows, the statistics page now allows you to create custom financial metrics that track specific business KPIs important to your company.
At the bottom of the statistics page, click "Add New Financial Metric" to begin creating a custom calculation. You'll give your metric a name and then build the formula using your actual financial data.
Building Your Own Financial Metric
Custom financial metrics work by combining different data points using mathematical operations. For each input in your formula, you'll select the:
- Aggregation Method: Choose how your data gets calculated. These are your standard aggregation methods—Sum, Min, Max, Median, Average, or Count
- Data Source: Select from metrics, category groups, specific categories, or accounts
- Operator: If there are two inputs, choose how they relate: Addition (+), Subtraction (-), Multiplication (×), or Division (÷)
- Display Format: Decide how the result should be shown (as a number, percentage or currency)
Once created, your custom financial metrics appear on the statistics page alongside your standard inflows and outflows. Hovering over a metric let’s you edit it, delete it and expand it (this shows all the transactions that go into calculating that metric).
Previously created financial metrics can also be referenced and used when creating new ones, allowing you to build increasingly sophisticated calculations that reflect your unique business model and reporting needs.
